Mr. O'Donnell
Physical Education

My name is Tim O’Donnell and I will be your child's physical education teacher this year. This is my 6th year as part of the Chute Family. I am one of the lucky ones who love going to work everyday, and being at Chute makes it even better. I graduated from Northeastern Illinois University with a degree in Physical Education in 2011. My wife, Jami, teaches third grade in Niles and we have two wonderful, active boys running around at home that keep us quite busy outside of school. TJ is 8 and currently in 3rd grade and Tyler is 5 and in kindergarten. I am a huge animal lover and currently own two Siberian Huskies, Rex and Raven. In my free time I love doing anything active with our boys, such as going for bike rides, taking our dogs for long walks and playing a wide range of sports. I am a big DIYer around the house and will attempt to fix just about anything and build anything that my wife may find on Pinterest.

Physical education is for every youngster – to help them learn about themselves, learn about their bodies, and learn ways to become physically active. Physical education is much more than students playing basketball, swinging a bat, doing sit-ups, and running a mile. It can and should be a vehicle used to drive each child’s educational success. Physical education is an integral part in the development of the whole child. It is through physical education that students are able to learn about themselves, overcome challenges, set and reach goals, interact positively with their peers, and jointly push their physical and mental abilities.

Our goal is to help all students find a physical activity they enjoy and will look forward to participating in outside of the school day. Hopefully very soon we will all be back at Chute and our wide range of clubs and intramurals will begin.

Along with being a PE teacher I'm also one of the cross country coaches as well one of the 7th grade team leads.

My grades are updated on a weekly basis and you can follow your child’s progress via their sisk12 gradebook.  If you ever have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
